WHAT are the refund policies?
50% of entry fee refund: Requests received by midnight NZT on Sunday, 12 January 2025.
25% of entry fee refund: Requests received between Monday, 13 January 2025, and Sunday, 2 March 2025.
No Refunds: After Sunday, 2 March 2025.
Eligibility:
Refund requests must be submitted by midnight NZT on Sunday, 2 March 2025 (6 weeks before the event).
No refunds will be provided for requests received after this date.
Refund Amounts:
Requests received by midnight NZT on Sunday, 12 January 2025 (3 months before the event), will receive a 50% refund of the registration fee.
Requests received between Monday, 13 January 2025, and Sunday, 2 March 2025, will receive a 25% refund of the registration fee.
Refunds are not available for any registrations after Sunday, 2 March 2025.
Processing Time:
Refunds will be processed within 30 business days of receipt of the request.
Procedure:
To request a refund, participants must email info@christchurchmarathon.co.nz with their registration details.
Non-Refundable Items:
Processing fees and charitable donations made during registration are non-refundable.
All additional purchases are non-refundable.
Transaction fees are not refundable.
HOW DO I GET A REFUND?
If you’re eligible, you’ll be able to enquire about a refund by emailing info@christchurchmarathon.co.nz
entry insurance (RECOMMENDED)
We partner with XCover to provide a refund insurance option upon entry. You're covered if you can't attend for medical reasons, due to emergency services requiring you to be at home or if authorities issue a travel warning. XCover by Cover Genius is an optional service offered when paying a registration fee for this event, it cannot be purchased later.
You can add this when you enter the Frontrunner Christchurch Marathon upon checkout. Please read the terms and conditions of this service.

Can i transfer my entry to a different event distance?
Absolutely you can, however, this must be done by midnight NZT on the 2nd March 2025. You can even do this yourself by logging into your Event Plus account - head to eventplus.net/fcm25. You can then flick on ‘Update Registration’. Once you’ve logged in, you’ll be met with your dashboard that looks like the one below. Click on ‘Change Category’, then select which event you wish to change to.
Changes to shorter distances will incur no fee and you will not be eligible for a refund for the difference. Changes to longer distances will require you to pay the difference between the price you paid and the current price of that distance.
Can I transfer my entry to another person?
Yes, you can transfer your entry to a different person, however, this must be done by midnight on 2nd March 2025. There will be a $20 admin fee to make this transfer. You can even do this yourself by logging into your Event Plus account - head to eventplus.net/fcm25. You can then flick on ‘Update Registration’. Once you’ve logged in, you’ll be met with your dashboard that looks like the one below. Click on ‘Transfer’, then enter the email address of the person you are wanting to transfer your entry to.
I need my confirmation email resent
No problem, that’s easy! You can once again do this yourself by logging into your Event Plus account - head to eventplus.net/fcm25. You can then flick on ‘Update Registration’. Once you’ve logged in, you’ll be met with your dashboard that looks like the one below. Click on ‘Resend Confirmation’, and select the email address you wish it to be sent to.
WHAT ARE THE MINIMUM AGES?
For the safety of our runners, we have some minimum ages in place. This is 12 years old for the 10km, 16 years old for the Half Marathon and 18 years old for the Marathon. This is the age you are on race day,
