half Marathon
The Half Marathon can be a step up to the full distance or a great goal in itself, and walkers are welcome.
It takes in 21.1k of the same flat, fast and scenic tour of iconic landmarks such as Hagley Park, the Christchurch Town Hall, Canterbury Museum and Avon River. As NZ's fastest course, Christchurch is the place to be for a PB & the distance is certified to IAAF & AIMS standard.

The Half Marathon course will be two laps of the following:
The course starts on Rolleston Ave, heading south for 500m to Cambridge Tce.
• Veer left and follow Cambridge Tce (1k mark) around toward Durham St.
• Follow Cambridge Tce north into Durham St and continue to Armagh St.
• Turn left into Armagh St, then right to follow the eastern side of Cranmer Sq to Kilmore St.
• Turn right and heading east now, follow Kilmore St to Madras St.
• Turn right onto Madras St, then left onto Chester St East (3k), then left into Barbados St, which you follow north back to Kilmore St.
• Turn right into Kilmore St, then left into the eastern end of Oxford Tce, where you follow a cycle path anti-clockwise around to Barbados St, and then turn right into Kilmore St.
• Follow Kilmore St west for 150m, turn right into Madras St, then right into Peterborough St (5k) for an anti-clockwise block; turning left into Barbados St, left into Salisbury St, left into Madras St and right into Peterborough St.
• Follow Peterborough St west to Park Tce, then turn right and head north to Harper Ave.
• Turn left over the bridge & follow Harper Ave for approx. 500m. The route then veers left into Hagley Pk, and follows the cycle path anti-clockwise (passing 8k) around the outside of the park to the corner of Deans Ave & Riccarton Ave.
• Continue on the cycle path alongside Riccarton Ave (passing 9k) for 400m to the entrance of Hagley Pk Tennis Club, where you turn left and head north for 600m into the middle of Hagley Pk, then turning right into the central cycle path toward Victoria Lake.
• Keeping Victoria Lake is on your right (10k). Continue straight ahead on the central cycle path heading toward the Armagh St Gates.
. On the final lap, approx 100m past Victoria Lake, you will be directed right through the trees onto central Village Green to enter the Finish Chute for a final 100m to the finish line.

Aid stations will serve water and PURE Nutrition isotonic drink in paper cups (no sponges, coke
or bottles). Aid stations will also feature first aid and toilets.
Aid Stations will be at the following positions and corresponding K marks:
Rolleston Ave: 11k
Chester St East: 3k 13.5k
Peterborough St: 6k 16.5k 2
Hagley Park West: 8.5k 19k
Drink Station Lay Out
Drink Stations will be set up in order of Energy Drink, then Water, then Full Marathon Special Drinks. There will be space between each table. Marshals will hand out drinks as much as possible, but it gets busy so be prepared to grab a cup from a table. Please be prepared to stop for your drink if it is busy.
